Heat-Related Illness Awareness

COURSE DESCRIPTION
The main objective of this training course is to increase employee awareness of the potential hazards associated with heat stress when working in both outdoor and indoor conditions. We will discuss the requirements of a heat-related program, types of heat-related illnesses, how to recognize the signs and symptoms, first aid treatment and emergency response, identifying the hazards, exposure limits, how to prevent heat-related illnesses through engineering controls and administrative practices, and a medical monitoring program. Our goal is to generate a greater awareness of the hazards that are present when working in extreme conditions and to inform employees about the precautions they should take to help ensure their health and safety.
