Frequently Asked Questions
Compliance Questions
Is online safety training OSHA compliant?
Yes. Online training can fulfill the 'classroom' or awareness portion of Federal OSHA general industry requirements. You may also be required to provide training to meet your state’s OSHA requirements as well as industry specific needs. Some federal standards also require hands-on training, which should supplement online courses. eSafety lets you track both in the same system.
What OSHA training is required for small businesses?
OSHA requirements are based on workplace hazards, not company size. If your employees face hazards like lifting, chemical exposure, or fall risks, you need training that addresses those specific risks—regardless of whether you have 10 or 500 employees.
How often do employees need safety refresher training?
It depends on the standard. Some topics require annual refreshers (like Hazard Communication), while others require retraining when conditions change. eSafety's scheduling feature gives you the flexibility to schedule based on your annual and ongoing training needs.
General Support Questions
What client support does eSafety provide?
We're here to help! A dedicated support person is assigned to your account. Not a ticket queue. Your rep knows your name, your setup, and your history. Call or email them directly whenever you have quesitons about your eSafety account.
How do I know eSafety is the right fit?
We'll tell you! We qualify before sending you an agreement, so we know we’re the right fit for your training needs. If your organization needs features we don't offer, we're honest about that upfront.
Is any software required?
All you need is a current Internet browser. Our courses are in HTML5 and can be accessed on any device.
Does eSafety integrate with other HR systems?
eSafety has API capabilities to connect testing and user data points between systems. Contact us to discuss your specific requirements and pricing.
How long does it take for my eSafety site to be ready?
Timing depends on the solution. Once you confirm you’re ready, we’ll send an Information Request to begin your setup. eSafety Training sites typically take 2–3 business days to build. We’re happy to provide administrators with a walkthrough of key features and tools.
Is there a contract or long-term commitment?
We offer annual subscriptions with straightforward pricing. No hidden fees. No surprise charges.
eSafety Training Questions
What is a Learning Management System (LMS)?
A Learning Management System (LMS) is an online platform used to deliver, manage, track, and report employee training. With our LMS, companies can assign courses, set training schedules, upload custom documents, and access test results through robust reporting tools. Because everything is online, administrators can view records anytime, and employees can complete training from any location.
How easy is the LMS for administrators to use?
Clients consistently tell us our system is intuitive and the simplest they've used. You don't need IT skills or LMS experience. Built-in help videos cover every feature, and your dedicated rep is a phone call away.
Can I add multiple administrators?
Yes! Add the number of administrators you need at no extra cost. Upgrade user permissions so anyone involved in the training process has access to the areas they manage.
Can I run my own compliance reports?
Yes. Generate reports on testing data, schedules, user activity, and more at any time, through your admin login. Set up reports to be auto generated for daily, weekly, monthly, or quarterly emails.
How long are eSafety training courses?
Most courses are around 25 minutes. If a topic needs more than 30 minutes, we split it into two parts. Our philosophy is to create training that covers all necessary items, with real-world examples, so the knowledge sticks.
Can I add company-specific training content?
Yes! Upload your own videos, documents, and policies. The eSafety Course Builder is included so you can create fully custom courses within the system. Bring all training content together so everything is scheduled and tracked in one place.
Can I conduct group training and still use your LMS?
Yes, our system is set up so that your Administrator can conduct group training sessions and have documentation and testing capabilities with little additional effort. You can also utilize our LMS to track training that may have been conducted on-site and need to be included in reports.
Is there a limit on the number of locations I can add to my eSafety subscription?
No. Set up as many locations as you have. Let us know if another needs to join at any time! Pricing for eSafety Training is based on total users.
eSafety Content Questions
What content is included with each course?
Each course chosen within your subscription includes the English and Spanish version, when available, and test questions. If a topic needs more than 30 minutes, we split it into two parts. English and Spanish versions need to be downloaded separately, however connecting through a proxy file gives us the ability to automatically update the course files without you needing to redownload in the future. We also include a thumbnail of the course to use in your external LMS.
Will eSafety courses work with my LMS?
More than likely! SCORM 1.2 is the most widely supported format. We provide a free test file so you can verify compatibility before committing.
What if I already have an eSafety Training account?
eSafety Content is for organizations who want eSafety courses on an external LMS, outside of eSafety. If you already use eSafety Training, you have full access to the course library; no need to purchase our courses in the SCORM format. If you’re looking to consolidate systems, ask us how you can continue to use eSafety courses.
Can I preview courses before purchasing?
Yes. We provide a test file that shows excerpts from our courses to not only confirm our SCORM file works in your existing LMS, but also to see what our courses look like. We also provide a demo login so you can view full courses before committing.
eSafety Contractor Questions
How easy is it to implement eSafety Contractor?
The basic process: upload your document templates, add your site-specific training content, then invite contractor companies. Most organizations are operational within days. We provide a setup guide and video library along with a dedicated rep when you have quesitons!
Do contractors have to pay for access?
No. As the Host Company, your subscription includes access for the agreed number of contractor companies and users. No additional cost for your contractors.
Does my eSafety Contractor agreement cover multiple sites?
Yes. Set up site-specific requirements for each site while maintaining visibility across all locations from one dashboard.
What documents do I need to qualify a contractor?
Every facility, company or corporation should have its own legal guidance, specific to the level of review and qualifications for contractor companies and their employees to enter your facility. This evaluation will include the type and level of hazards, potential exposures, and overall risk management evaluations previously conducted at your facility. Typically, the most basic documents required from contractors would be insurance certificates, licensing documents, and other pertinent proof of competency and insurance coverage.
Why do I need contractor management software?
Using a contractor management system is the most effective way to streamline management of third-party workers to improve team cohesiveness, reduce corporate liability, and ensure the safety of everyone on site. CMS is a centralized system to verify licenses, insurance, and certifications to minimize legal risks and ensure safety standards. Site orientation is conducted digitally, allowing contractors to complete training prior to arrival.
How does contractor tracking software make my job easier?
Contractor tracking software replaces manual spreadsheets and paper files with a centralized digital dashboard. It streamlines your workflow by automating compliance monitoring, providing real-time alerts for expiring documents, and allowing security personnel to instantly verify worker credentials at the gate. This ensures a safer, fully vetted job site with significantly less administrative overhead.
