Sexual Harassment Awareness
25 Minutes
COURSE DESCRIPTION
In 1980, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission which develops federal requirements, issued landmark sexual harassment guidelines. These guidelines prohibited any unwelcome sexual advances or requests that are made as an expectation of employment. The EEOC has provided updates to the federal harassment guidelines over the years. Keep in mind your company’s policy may provide additional protections based on state and local laws that are independent of the federal guidance.
In this course, we will explore the federal guidelines. We will discuss how to identify the two main types of sexual harassment. Several different situations will be shared to clarify your understanding of what is and is not considered sexual harassment. We will also discuss how to recognize and avoid behaviors that are not acceptable in today’s workplace. In addition, you will learn what to do if you encounter unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature at work.
